Zak Frary was born on May 29, 1991, in Norwich, Norfolk, England, to Patrick Frary, commonly known as Ricky Knight, and his wife, Julia Hamer-Bevis, popularly known as Sweet Saraya, both professional wrestlers. Zak has a sister, Saraya-Jade Bevis, who wrestles professionally under the name Paige, and a half-brother from his father’s side, Roy Bevis, also known as Zebra Kid. Before joining the wrestling world, his father, Patrick Frary, was a participant of gangs and spent eight years behind bars, all before he was 25 years old.
Zak hasn’t spoken about his education, but he was deeply involved in the world of wrestling from a young age.
Beginnings of the Career: Zak Zodiac
Zak started wrestling training when he was six years old. He became a semi-professional wrestler four years later, when he entered the family’s promotion World Association of Wrestling. He eventually fought for his first championship belt, the WAW Youngsters Championship, but lost to Phil Lea. Nonetheless, as he grew older, his training became more difficult and his skills enhanced. In 2006, he competed against his father for the WAW Pontins Open Championship, which he won. He continued to have success in the following years, winning a 15-man royal rumble at WAW Champion’s Night and defeating the Cougar Kid in the WAW King of the Ring match in 2007.
The same year, he competed for the WAW British Lightweight Championship against Jonny Storm in a best two out of three pinfalls match, with Jonny taking the final pinfall. The very next year, he fought Erik Isaksen for the WAW Heavyweight Championship under the same laws as he did against Jonny Storm. The referee stopped the match this time after both fighters had one pinfall.
He defeated Paul Tyrell in the WAW British Cruiserweight Championship in 2008 and claimed the position until 2010. He fought for the vacant WAW European Championship against Aron Frost the same year, but ended up losing. His most recent win at WAW was over Steve Corino to win the WAW World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career.
Other Wrestling Events: Zak Zodiac
Zak had previous success in many other wrestling promotions. He made his Real Deal Wrestling debut in 2006 at the RDW vs WAW event, wrestling Dave Rayne for the RDW Lincolnshire Regional Championship. Even so, Zak lost that match, but gained his first RDW victory and the opportunity to compete for the RDW Heavyweight Championship against title holder Mick Romeo. Sadly, he was defeated in the title match. Nonetheless, he continued his RDW journey by competing in a gauntlet match for the RDW Lincolnshire Regional Championship, which he won.
He then teamed up with his father in a tag team match against Big Dave and Bulk, aka The UK Pitbulls. The match was won by Zak and his father, who also won the RDW Tag Team Championship. They claimed the title for nine months before losing it to The Underdogs, who were represented by Luc Harrison and Nathan Chalder in a five-way tag team match.
Zak also competed in the Norwegian Wrestling Federation with his father between 2006 and 2007, and they were quite popular. They defeated Fremtiden, while Zak competed in the Max21 Cup on his own, reaching the final but failing to be crowned winner after being defeated by Gabriel Antonick.
