Josuke Higashikata (東方 仗助 Higashikata Jōsuke) is the leading character of Diamond is Unbreakable, the fourth season of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series, and the series’ fourth JoJo. He is Joseph Joestar and Tomoko Higashikata’s illegitimate child. In the 2021 spin-off Crazy Diamond’s Demonic Heartbreak, he also appears as a main ally.

Josuke is a mixed race (half-Japanese, half-British) 1st year high school student from Morioh. He meets Jotaro Kujo in 1999, who tells him that he is Joseph’s illegitimate child and thus a distant relative of the Joestar Family. Josuke takes this upon himself to safeguard his lovable town from malicious Stand Users after his grandfather passed away.

Josuke is a Stand User who wields Crazy Diamond, a Stand capable of repairing almost everything.

Josuke Higashikata is a tall, well-built young fellow. His most striking characteristic is his well-kept gorgeous hairstyle with 2 minor, curved spikes in the back, styled after an unidentified guy who saved his life when he was a child. His hairstyle can become spiky depending on his mood, such as when he is annoyed or mad.

Josuke is dressed in a dark, altered Japanese school uniform. His jacket fits him perfectly, reaching the middle of his thigh, and is paired with a pair of broad pants. He wears his jacket untucked and pinned to the side, exposing a light undershirt with a short zipper on both sides of his chest. In addition, he has a small stud in each ear.

Josuke is adorned with a variety of metallic/golden emblems. He has a modified anchor on his left collar and a row of 2 minor hearts on his right. A peace symbol (☮) is pinned to his open vest on his right, and a soul (occasionally enclosing a palm, as on Jotaro’s hat) is pinned to his left. Over his sleeves, he wears a gold band around both wrists (under more elaborate pieces in several illustrations).

Josuke, a wealthy man, dresses in Mr. Junko original socks, 25,000 black Bally shoes, and Moschino brand undergarments.

The most popular colour scheme for Josuke is a dark blue or purple attire with a green or yellow undershirt.

Personal Qualities: Josuke Higashikata

Intelligence: Josuke is an incredibly skilled strategist in a fight. He can use his Stand to achieve a variety of effects and accurately predict his opponents’ next moves. Josuke is a methodical person, having rapidly deduced Born this Way’s powers through simple experimentation, and also taking full advantage of Les Feuilles’ features despite having only recently seen them in action. Josuke conducts thorough investigations outside of combat, taking care to cover his tracks. He has also demonstrated superior mathematical ability, easily solving a trigonometry problem assigned to him by Joshu.

Sight: Josuke has exceptional vision, capable of effectively explaining the dimensions of organic objects such as living beings and greenery from a distance (a trait shared with Holy Joestar-Kira). Furthermore, despite looking away, he appears to have a broad field of vision, detecting movement at his feet’s level.

Hand-to-hand combat: Josuke has a great aptitude for hand-to-hand combat, having obstructed and attacked an enemy in one quick movement, enhancing the destruction his strike creates with the powers of his Stand. He also has the high reflexes and quick reaction speed that skilled fighters have.

• In Japanese, the “Suke” in his name can also be proclaimed “Jo.”
• Higashikata, Josuke’s surname, is written in the same kanji as “th”, the Japanese term for “eastern” or “oriental.”
